Cold weather has arrived and at this point you have undoubtedly turned on your furnace to heat your home. It is important to remember that your furnace needs be checked and maintained at least once a year to make sure it is heating properly, efficiently, and safely. As temperatures continue to steadily decline in and around the Charlotte Metropolitan area, your furnace may be struggling to keep you warm. It isn’t uncommon for our trained NATE certified technicians to inspect a furnace and find clogged furnace filters, loose electrical connections, insects, rodent nests, or even safety concerns such as the rusted and cracked heat exchanger pictured above which was recently replaced.
Our biggest concern we have for you and your family is your safety. When a Charlotte Comfort Systems technician inspects your furnace, we make sure there are no carbon monoxide leaks present at the time of inspection. Carbon Monoxide is often referred to as the silent killer and is the number one cause of poisoning deaths in The United States. Mild exposure to carbon monoxide includes headaches, fatigue, vomiting, and nausea. If you think your heating system may unsafe, please call Charlotte Comfort Systems as soon as possible to schedule an inspection of your furnace.
After we confirm the safety of your furnace, we inspect the unit thoroughly to make sure it won’t leave you and your family without comfort this winter. During the inspection our technician will check the calibration of your gas valve, clean the burners, clean the igniter, examine the heat exchanger for damage, inspect the gas supply lines, measure voltage and amperage, and so much more. After our non-commissioned NATE certified technicians have inspected your furnace, you can rest assured knowing your furnace is operating optimally and you haven’t been sold on something you don’t need.
